Today during a photowalk, we noticed Los Angeles Department of Transportation had there lights on!

I took this with +Khris Griffis one evening during a walk down Main Street in Santa Monica, California. Since then I’ve been sitting on it, as I do.

Going on walks with people is really the best…I know sometimes you might not get as many shots in, I know I don’t (I talk to much) but it does get your mind off of things. Plus, they always the highlights of my week.

Venice is a beachfront district on the Westside of Los Angeles, California, United States. It is known for its canals, beaches and circus-like Ocean Front Walk, a two-and-a-half mile pedestrian-only promenade that features performers, fortune-tellers, artists, and vendors.

Another long night of shooting, but it was a lot of fun!

Our first stop was the Venice Beach Skate Park. Several of us were out there last week, but I brought some different glass this time around and got some cool shots.

I had a hard time picking which shot to post. Their were all types of personalities whipping around the park, but I really wanted to highlight this one guy. He reminded me of the classic Venice Skater style.

So if you did not already know, we had our PhotoWalk down and around Abbot Kinney and even some other parts of Venice. All of this was to support and bring awareness to the upcoming Venice Art Walk & Auctions that will be taking place in 2 weeks in support of the Venice Family Clinic. We had a smaller group this time, but that was more then fine. It gave us time to really get to know one another, plus much easier to adventure through the neighborhood. And adventure we did!

While wondering the streets of Venice, we came across this amazing tree. It has all these amazing roots and its branches were roping all around, It wasn’t till I started to setup that I knew exactly what I was going to do. I noticed the flare, and if you know me, you know that I have a moderately unhealthy obsession with lens flare. So I flared it up!

I really had a blast. It has been sometime since I have been down to the heart of Venice. Really happy that we were able to take time and revisit this unique city with some really awesome people~!

Yesterday Khris Griffis, Derek Cross and I had a bit of a After-PhotoWalk-PhotoWalk-Walk-Walk to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) entrance.

LAX is the primary airport for the Los Angeles area and is the 6th busiest airport in the world. It is occupied by a little under 6 billon travelers coming in and out of this airport each year.

As you would imagine, security would be the number one issue when shooting anywhere in or around this airport. Last night, we did not have any problems or even run in with any type of fuzz.

We parked a little ways-away and pretty much just walked up to the sign and begin shooting. Though I did lose my footing and pretty much tackle Derek. Other then that, it was pretty much good times

Khris Griffis and I took a little stroll down Main Street in Santa Monica tonight. We pretty much stopped at whatever caught our eye; flowers, cool signs, urinals and this really neat antique shop.

The place is called Jadis and seems to have tons or really neat antiques. There were some unpleasant signs including, “No Photography, No Cameras or Phones.” Even better the store charges admission to come inside!

I decided to leave the scratches on the window, thought it was a bit relevant with the wall of rules posted at the front door. Plus that would have been a bit of a pain to work out!

I have been sitting on this one for a while. It was shot during the now distant Trey Ratcliff Photowalk at the Santa Monica Pier. In the pass, I wasn’t so sure how I wanted to process. It when through many different version of toning and photomatix but I kept throwing them away.

Today I while going though some albums, this bracket set caught my eye again. This time I was going to do something a little different. I brought selected layers in and hand toned them.

I think it came out pretty well!

This past weekend, Khris Griffis, Callie Ferman and I all visited Castle Green also known as Hotel Green in Pasadena. It holds 6 floors of residential apartments. The grounds are normally locked off to the public, but once a year where they open it up to the public.

What I didn’t realize is that each of the residence would be opening their doors to the public! Yes, mostly ever apartment was essentially an open house. None of this really sunk in till I walked into this one ladies residence. I walked into her bathroom and pounded out a bracket, where should would then greet Khris and I.

It was just so weird.

Here I am shooting this women’s bathroom.I don’t know her, I can’t even tell you her name! Just that she has a spider web in the corner of her bathroom.

So heres to you unknown lady…I’m sharing your bathroom to the world!
